Job summary

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers in Colorado's SE Division seeks an experienced Patient Service Coordinator to join our team. This role may travel to Aurora, Centennial, Englewood and Littleton to coordinate patient appointments and front-office flow.

The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, at least 3 years of medical office experience, and proficiency with computer systems (Outlook, Word, Excel). Salary range is $18.29–$26.00 per hour, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 3 years of office experience, medical office preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computer systems required; Microsoft Office suite a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules returning and treatment appointments in the system according to guidelines.
  • Cancels/reschedules appointments and notifies clinic staff.
  • Sends outpatient appointment/test communications.
  • Handles incoming calls for scheduling or rescheduling.
  • Provides accurate appointment cards and arranges financial counseling as needed.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and follows front-office policies.
  • Covers other front-office duties as requested.

Overview

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Patient Service Coordinator in our SE Division. This position may travel to Aurora, Centennial, Englewood and Littleton.

No matter the role each RMCC team member serves in, the goal is the same: to provide the best care possible for each and every one of our patients. Whether we are a nurse holding our patient’s hand, or a scheduler on the phone finding an appointment that fits into a patient’s schedule, we are deeply connected to our patients and do what we can to help.

Salary Range: $18.29-$26.00

Responsibilities
  • Schedules returning appointments and treatment appointments in computer system in accordance with physician and/or office guidelines.
  • Cancels/reschedules appointments according to physician schedule changes; notifies appropriate clinic personnel.
  • Sends out outpatient appointments/testing
  • Handles incoming phone calls from patients needing to schedule or reschedule appointments.
  • Provides patients with accurate and legible appointment cards. Follows up with patient to reschedule any missed appointments. -Arranges for patients to have financial counseling as needed.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic/corporation.
  • Follows policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the front office.
  • Covers for other front office functions as requested
Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required. Position requires at least 3 year office experience, medical office preferred. Have excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Proficiency with computer systems a requirement. Microsoft (Outlook, Word, and Excel) a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work may require sitting for long periods of time; also stooping, bending and stretching for files and supplies. Employee is required to be present at the employee site during regularly scheduled business hours and regularly required to sit or stand and talk or hear. Requires manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination for computer work. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range for telephone contacts.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Work will involve in-person interaction with co-workers and management and/or clients. Work may require minimal travel by automobile to office sites.

All qualified candidates are required to pass a background check and non-federal drug test (which excludes marijuana) post offer of employment and prior to hire.
