Job summary

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers is seeking an experienced Patient Service Coordinator for our SE Division. The role may travel to Aurora, Centennial, Englewood and Littleton to coordinate appointments and support patient flow.

Responsibilities include scheduling, rescheduling, patient communication, and arranging financial counseling while maintaining confidentiality and front-office efficiency. Prior medical office experience is preferred and proficiency with MS Office is required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 3 years of office experience, medical office preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computer systems is required; MS Office a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules returning and treatment appointments in the computer system according to guidelines.
  • Cancels/reschedules appointments and notifies clinic staff as needed.
  • Sends outpatient appointments/testing and handles incoming calls to schedule or reschedule.
  • Provides patients with appointment cards and follows up on missed appointments.
  • Arranges financial counseling for patients as needed.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to policies to support front office efficiency.
  • Covers other front office functions as requested.

Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Patient Service Coordinator in our SE Division. This position may travel to Aurora, Centennial, Englewood and Littleton.

Whether we are a nurse holding our patient’s hand, or a scheduler on the phone finding an appointment that fits into a patient’s schedule, we are deeply connected to our patients and do what we can to help.

Salary Range: $18.29-$26.00

Responsibilities
  • Schedules returning appointments and treatment appointments in computer system in accordance with physician and/or office guidelines.
  • Cancels/reschedules appointments according to physician schedule changes; notifies appropriate clinic personnel.
  • Sends out outpatient appointments/testing
  • Handles incoming phone calls from patients needing to schedule or reschedule appointments.
  • Provides patients with accurate and legible appointment cards. Follows up with patient to reschedule any missed appointments.
  • Arranges for patients to have financial counseling as needed.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic/corporation.
  • Follows policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the front office.
  • Covers for other front office functions as requested
Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required. Position requires at least 3 year office experience, medical office preferred. Have excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Proficiency with computer systems a requirement. Microsoft (Outlook, Word, and Excel) a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work may require sitting for long periods of time; also stooping, bending and stretching for files and supplies. Employee is required to be present at the employee site during regularly scheduled business hours and regularly required to sit or stand and talk or hear. Requires manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination for computer work. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range for telephone contacts.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Work will involve in-person interaction with co‑workers and management and/or clients. Work may require minimal travel by automobile to office sites.

All qualified candidates are required to pass a background check and non‑federal drug test (which excludes marijuana) post offer of employment and prior to hire.
