Monroe Carell's Pediatric Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery team is dedicated to helping children achieve the highest possible level of function, quality of life, and confidence through compassionate, family-centered care. The program provides expert diagnosis and treatment for congenital differences, traumatic injuries, complex wounds, and conditions resulting from illness. Board-certified pediatric plastic surgeons work alongside multidisciplinary specialists across Monroe Carell in areas such as craniofacial anomalies, hand and upper extremity surgery, fetal surgery, craniosynostosis, burn reconstruction, and facial reconstruction. Supported by a Level IV NICU and nationally recognized craniofacial program accreditation, the team offers advanced surgical and reconstructive techniques, including expertise in microsurgery, facial reanimation, and pioneering fetal procedures. With nearly a century of experience and a collaborative approach to care, Monroe Carell delivers innovative, specialized treatment tailored to the unique needs of every child and family.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Proficiently performs all Associate Patient Service Specialist job responsibilities.
  • Schedules appointments and procedures through clinical communication, work queues, and patient portal messages
  • Manages registration and patient work queues.
  • Coordinates with patients and/or outside facilities to ensure all pre-appointment orders and consults have been received and ready to view prior to patient visit.
  • Communicates with patients through the patient portal using critical decision making to route appropriately as applicable.

  • PATIENT SCHEDULING (Novice): The ability to coordinate and schedule patient appointments, procedures and other office visits with various computer systems in the hospital or clinic.

  • APPOINTMENT & PRODECURAL SCHEDULING (Fundamental Awareness): The ability to coordinate and schedule diagnostic testing and procedures within various computer systems in the hospital.
