Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an experienced Front Desk/Registration Associate for the Immediate Care Center in Sycamore. The role involves greeting patients, performing check-in/out, and collecting co-pays and appointments, with responsibilities across multiple clinics as needed.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and 0–2 years in customer service; a Bachelor’s degree and healthcare experience are preferred, along with bilingual abilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 0 to 2 years’ experience in a customer service position.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Healthcare experience and knowledge of medical terminology are a plus.
• Bilingual abilities are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with patients and guests including greeting them upon arrival, confirming identity and providing necessary information related to their visit.
• Completes check-in/out functions as directed.
• Confirms and updates patient identification and demographic/insurance information.
• Completes patient registration as needed.
• Obtains patient consents/authorizations.
• Collects co-payments, past due balances and point of service payments.
• Posts payments, process billing information and perform “end of day” cash drawer closing.
• Keeps waiting area clean and comfortable.
• Informs patients of any delays or changes in appointment status.
• Schedules appointments as necessary.
• For PSRs in the Immediate Care Clinics (ICC), float to other ICCs/departments.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

The salary range for this position is $19.02 - $26.63 (Hourly Rate) Placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. Description

• This is a Full Time position at 36 hours per week for the Immediate Care Center located at the Sycamore clinic. This would be 3, 12hr shifts from 6:45am-7:15pm with weekend and holiday coverage requirement. Floating to other clinics may be required.**
