Job summary

HealthFirst Family Care Center in Laconia, NH is seeking a Patient Service Representative to be the friendly face of our community health center. You’ll greet patients, handle front desk tasks, and ensure a warm, organized check-in experience.

You’ll manage phone calls, schedule appointments, verify insurance and demographics, collect co-pays, and maintain patient records with HIPAA privacy in mind. High school diploma and 2 years medical office experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • Two years' medical office experience desired.
  • HIPAA knowledge or privacy training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients and visitors in person and by phone with professionalism and warmth.
  • Answer phones within 3 rings with courteous etiquette.
  • Keep reception, waiting and work areas clean and organized.
  • Register new patients and update demographics, including scanning insurance cards and verifying eligibility.
  • Confirm and update patient information at check-in.
  • Ensure consents are completed annually and PHI is up-to-date.
  • Notify clinicians of patient arrivals and communicate delays as needed.
  • Schedule appointments, manage cancellations and waitlists, and follow up on no-shows.
  • Handle prescription and records pickups.
  • Collect co-pays and reconcile daily cash drawer.
  • Process interoffice deliveries, faxes, voicemails, and appointment confirmations.
  • Maintain patient charts and records requests.
  • Maintain provider schedules and verify insurance.
  • Cross-train in at least one other position within HealthFirst.
  • Maintain confidentiality and secure PHI at all times.

Requirements
