Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• One year technical certificate preferred depending on Corewell Health entity.
• At least 1 year of experience in insurance billing, access management, patient financial services, EHR, or related areas.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients as concierge and manage visitor communications.
• Handle clerical tasks including phone calls, scheduling, mail, and registration reports.
• Identify and remind patients of health maintenance gaps.
• Document patient calls in the EHR for routing and resolution.
• Register and check-in patients; assist with self-registration and arrivals.
• Assist check-out and schedule follow-up appointments.
• Maintain medical records and upload documents into EPIC.
• Support basic EMR/EHR scanning.
• Participate in safety initiatives and complete required competencies.

Job Summary

As a Patient Services Representative with Corewell Health, you\'ll play a vital role in delivering top-notch healthcare service to our patients. You\'ll work as part of a team to provide registration, concierge, and clerical services. The service you provide in the role will make a real difference in the lives of those we serve.

Essential Functions

• Serves as a concierge - greets and communicates with patients or visitors.
• Perform clerical functions, including, but not limited to: answers practice phone calls; schedules patient appointments using a decision tree where applicable; orders supplies; generates patient letters; processes/sorts mail and supply deliveries, and processes registration reports.
• Responsible for identifying and reminding patients of health maintenance gaps.
• Documents patient phone calls in EHR for call routing / resolution.
• Performs patient registration and check-in: confirms patient demographic and insurance information; assists patients with self registration and arrival.
• Performs patient check-out: schedules follow-up appointments or confirms future appointments.
• Maintains patient medical records according to standards; uploads Right Fax documents into EPIC.
• Responsible for basic EMR/EHR scanning.
• Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: Vocational/Technical One year certificate from college or technical school (based on Corewell Health entity and department).
• 1 year of relevant experience in insurance billing, access management, patient financial services, electronic health records, lab service support or other related experience.
