Axia Women’s Health is seeking a Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) to deliver a seamless patient experience at our Indianapolis site. You will greet patients, manage front desk tasks, schedule visits, and handle calls with empathy and professionalism.

You will collect copayments, verify insurance, register patients, and support the clinical team. The role emphasizes accuracy, HIPAA compliance, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Receptionist/Patient Service Representative experience preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls, schedule appointments, and route questions to clinical team.
  • Collect and record copayments as required.
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and communicate benefit limitations.
  • Register new or existing patients and activate patient files.
  • Communicate with clinical team as needed.
  • Route calls promptly via direct transfer or voicemail.
  • Schedule follow-up visits and upcoming annual exams.
  • Document patient encounters accurately and completely.
  • Support patients and medical staff to ensure efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with staff to meet SOPs and HIPAA/OSHA requirements.

We have an opening for a Patient Services Representative (PSR)-Check In/Check Out at OGI North Indianapolis,, IN.

Office hours: Full time M-F 7:30-5:00 pm; 36 hors per week

Patient Service Representative

The Patient Service Representative I (PSR I) plays a vital role in delivering a seamless and positive experience for all patients at Axia Women’s Health. Serving as both the initial and final point of contact for in-office visitors and incoming callers, the PSR I is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of front-desk responsibilities. This includes scheduling and modifying appointments, responding to patient inquiries, and collecting patient balances, scheduling next year Annual Exam appointment, and supporting daily administrative workflows. The PSR I ensures that each patient interaction reflects Axia’s commitment to quality, compassion, and efficiency.

Essential Functions
  • The majority of the duties will be answering incoming calls, scheduling appointments and routing questions to clinical team.
  • Effectively collect and record copayments as required.
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and clearly communicate benefit limitations.
  • Perform registration functions for new or existing patients and activate patient files.
  • Communicate with clinical team as needed.
  • Promptly and professionally route phone calls via direct transfer, paging, voicemail, or redirect as needed.
  • Retrieve and appropriately route any messages from the answering service.
  • Assist with scheduling patient appointments and follow-up visits.
  • Ensure accurate and detailed documentation of patient encounters.
  • Provide additional support to patients and medical staff as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical colleagues, management, and other staff to ensure efficient practice operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies (including HIPAA & OSHA).
  • Adhere to practice policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the organization’s mission, vision, and values by embodying its principles in daily activities. Uphold high standards of ethical behavior, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Actively contribute to creating a positive work environment that aligns with the organization’s goals and objectives.
