Job summary

Mercy Health - Fairfield Hospital is seeking a Scheduling & Billing Specialist to coordinate patient testing and procedures, interact with physician offices, and support billing processes. The role involves entering data into the computer system, performing general office tasks, and possibly acting as a receptionist for patients.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or GED, at least two years of scheduling and payroll experience, and familiarity with hospital workflows.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in business, healthcare, or related field is preferred.
• Two years of scheduling and payroll experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and updates daily schedules and notifies changes.
• Maintains staffing levels and reports issues to leadership.
• Reviews attendance sheets and handles PTO/vacation requests per policy.
• Verifies patient information and coordinates equipment and special requests.
• Assists with test scheduling logistics and patient preparation instructions.
• Maintains patient records and daily census statistics; handles pre-authorization tasks.
