Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center is seeking a Patient Safety Tech (Sitter) to provide continuous one-on-one observation and support for patients to ensure safety and comfort. The role includes monitoring patient behavior, communicating needs to nursing staff, and assisting with basic non-clinical care in a high-stakes healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• CPR certification required.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification within 90 days of employment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of Nursing Assistant program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe patients one-on-one to ensure safety and comfort.
• Monitor patient needs and report observations to nursing staff.
• Communicate with patients and families to understand needs and preferences.
• Call code assist when necessary and respond to emergencies.
• Identify potentially unsafe environments and intervene appropriately.
