Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Safety Companion for Springfield Regional Medical Center to assist with patient care under RN supervision. You will support patients with daily living activities, maintain a safe environment, and relay changes to the nurse while delivering courteous service to patients, families, and visitors.

Ideal candidates have healthcare exposure and the ability to follow directions, communicate clearly, and promote infection prevention.

Qualifications

• Recent healthcare experience preferred.
• BLS certification preferred; obtain prior to direct patient care.
• Ability to communicate with healthcare team clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to the patient including care, hygiene, toileting, and mobility.
• Creates a safe environment for patients.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Provides high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors, and all employees.
• Participates in hand-off/report of pertinent information regarding patient and departmental needs upon arrival and when leaving.
