Job summary

Sturdy Memorial Hospital is seeking an Observation Aide to continuously monitor patients requiring supervision. The role includes assisting with restraint applications/removals, aiding patient mobility, and promptly recognizing emergencies.

The position requires a High School diploma, completion of hospital and Avasys orientations, and strong English communication and customer-service skills. Workload aligns with a 40-hour week and is based on full-time hospital needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of Hospital Orientation / Observation Aide Orientation and Avasys Orientation.
• Ability to communicate in English (verbal & written).
• Commitment to customer service and timely responses to patients, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to licensed staff in the application/removal of restraints.
• Assist patients with ambulation and mobilization safely.
• Recognize patient emergencies and respond appropriately.
• Provide continuous observation via the Avasys Monitoring System.
• Verbally redirect patients from engaging in risk behaviors.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Avasys operational systems.
