Job summary

Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA, seeks a patient observation aide to provide constant in-person supervision for patients who may be dangerous to themselves or others, or whose mental status could place them at risk.

You will assist with ambulation, recognize emergencies, maintain continuous observation via the Avasys system, redirect risk behaviors, and demonstrate competency with the Avasys Monitoring System while delivering customer-focused care.

Qualifications

• Able to follow directions.
• Demonstrates dependability, punctuality and flexibility.
• Successfully completes class on role and responsibilities.
• Command of verbal and written English.
• Must visibly demonstrate commitment to customer service by providing timely, positive responses to the needs of all customers including patients, families, co-workers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to licensed staff in the application/removal of restraints.
• Assist patients with ambulation and mobilization safely.
• Recognize patient emergencies and respond appropriately.
• Provide continuous observation and surveillance via Avasys.
• Verbally redirect patients from risk behaviors.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Avasys Monitoring System operations.
