Job summary

HCA Florida Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL seeks a Patient Safety Coordinator to help achieve high-quality patient care. The role supports the Patient Safety Program, fosters a culture of safety, and assists with strategic and operational plans for proactive harm reduction.

Qualifications include RN preferred or healthcare degree, knowledge of regulations, 3–5 years in acute care/patient safety, and CPPS certification (current or within 18 months of hire).

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse preferred or bachelor’s degree in a healthcare related field.
• Knowledge of State, Federal, and Joint Commission regulations.
• Three to five years’ experience in acute care / patient safety risk management setting preferred.
• Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) certification, current or obtain with 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Work to assist in managing the Patient Safety Program under the direction of the Director of Patient Safety.
• Support the patient safety team in developing a culture of safety and to identify opportunities to enhance patient safety.
• Support development of strategic and operational plans to build a proactive, loss prevention and harm reduction program.
