Job summary

Shannon Health in Texas is seeking a Patient Safety Coordinator to act as a consultant for the event reporting system across departments. You will help develop safety monitoring systems that drive change and support risk-related processes.

You will collaborate with the Risk Manager to detect, monitor, prevent, organize, measure, investigate, report, and manage patient adverse events, malpractice claims, and incident reports. Strong adherence to regulations and policies is essential.

Qualifications

  • Five years of experience in Healthcare.
  • Two years of experience in Patient Safety, working directly with online safety-event reporting systems, or facilitating interdisciplinary improvement teams in a healthcare setting, or other relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop safety monitoring systems to drive change and support risk-related processes.
  • Collaborate with the Risk Manager to detect, monitor, prevent, organize, measure, investigate, report, and manage patient adverse events, malpractice claims, incident reports, and other indicators of potential patient harm.
  • Ensure adherence to regulations and standards; implement policies and procedures to support risk-related processes.

Education

Job description

The Patient Safety Coordinator serves as a departmental and organizational consultant for the event reporting system. Under the management of the Risk Manager, this team member interacts with various Shannon departments and leaders to develop safety monitoring systems that drive change. Collaborates with the Risk Manager to maintain systems within the organization to detect, monitor, prevent, organize, measure, investigate, report, and manage patient adverse events, malpractice claims, incident reports, and other indicators of potential patient harm. Ensures adherence to regulations and standards; and implements policies and procedures necessary to support risk-related processes.

Qualifications
Education
  • Required
    • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Preferred
    • Associate's degree in Healthcare, Nursing, or related
Experience:
  • Required
    • Five years of experience in Healthcare
  • Preferred
    • Two years of experience in Patient Safety, working directly with online safety- event reporting systems, or facilitating interdisciplinary improvement teams in a healthcare setting, or other relevant experience
Certification/Licensure:
  • Preferred
    • Registered Nurse (RN), with authorization to practice in the State of Texas
