Job summary

The role requires a High School diploma, BLS certification, CPI training to be obtained prior to independent patient care, and Nursing Assistant certification for certain units; strong data entry and computer skills are expected.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with data entry and basic computer tasks preferred.
• Strong communication with psychiatric/medical staff and patients.
• Able to exercise independent judgment in patient care settings.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean and safe environment in the patient care area.
• Assists with plan of care as delegated by the staff nurse within scope of practice.
• Delivers care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety criteria for age groups.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families and MDT.
• Adapts communication and care to the specific patient population and privacy needs.
• Other duties as required.
