Job summary

SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) in Sitka, AK seeks a Patient Safety Attendant to provide constant observation and ensure patient safety. You will stay engaged with patients when they are not resting and assist care providers as directed by the RN or House Supervisor.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS within 30 days, and on-the-job training. Travel between MEMC and Sitka LTC may be required as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• BLS within 30 days of hire.
• HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
• On-the-job training provided to new PSA hires.

Responsibilities

• Provide constant observation to ensure patient safety.
• Remain actively engaged with the patient when not resting.
• Assist care providers with simple tasks (bed making, water pitchers, etc.).
• Maintain safe room environment, free of hazards and clutter.
• Assist with transferring or transporting patients as needed.
