Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England, seeks a Patient Safety Attendant (PSA) to provide continuous observation and support in a Level 1 Trauma Center setting. You will monitor patients, maintain privacy, and collaborate with nurses to ensure safe care.

This role involves 12-hour day shifts, ADL assistance, thorough documentation, and rapid response to changes in patient conditions while maintaining a compassionate, mission-driven approach.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross preferred.
• Previous hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous visual observation of assigned patients, including behavioral health populations.
• Verbally redirect patients from unsafe behaviors and notify nursing staff of concerns.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Document patient interactions and observations in medical records and handoff reports.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and participate in handoff communication.
• Respond quickly to changes in patient behavior or condition.
• Work with patients in isolation while maintaining proper precautions.
