Schedule & Shifts

Schedules are available 6 weeks in advance. Patient Safety Associates work 8-hour shifts:

• Day shift: 6:30 am - 3:00 pm
• Evening shift: 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm
• Night shift: 10:30 pm - 7:00 am

Work Schedule Commitments

• Per diem: 64 hours in a 6-week period, including 16 Saturday hours, 16 Sunday hours, and 32 weekday hours. All hours must be completed during assigned shifts. Work one summer and one winter holiday. Not benefits-eligible.
• Part-time: 24 hours/week, every other weekend and holiday rotation. Benefits eligible.
• Full-time: 40 hours/week, every other weekend and holiday rotation. Benefits eligible.

Responsibilities

The Safety Associate works under supervision of a licensed professional to monitor patients constantly and intervene if necessary to ensure safety. They maintain a safe and therapeutic environment without providing direct patient care. Roles include:

• 1:1 observation: within arm’s reach, redirecting and noting behavioral changes
• Continuous rounder: assessing multiple rooms and environments on a continuous basis

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Interest in Behavioral Health Sciences preferred
