Schedule Commitment

Schedules are available 6 weeks in advance.

Shifts

• Day shift: start at 6:30 am - 3 pm
• Evening shift: start at 2:30 pm - 11 pm
• Night shift: start at 10:30 pm - 7 am

Work Schedule Commitments

The position requires the following:

• Per diem: 64 hours in a 6-week schedule, including 16 Saturday hours, 16 Sunday hours, 32 weekday hours. All hours must be completed during assigned shifts. Work one summer and one winter holiday. Not benefits-eligible.
• Part-time: 24 hours/week; every other weekend and holiday rotation. Benefits eligible.
• Full-time: 40 hours/week; every other weekend and holiday rotation. Benefits eligible.

Responsibilities

The Safety Associate works under the supervision of a licensed professional to provide constant observation of assigned patients and intervene if necessary to keep patients safe.

The role involves maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment without providing direct patient care. There are two main roles:

• 1:1 observation: usually the assigned role, expected to be within arm's reach and keep the patient in sight at all times, redirecting them, preventing harmful behaviors, and noting changes in behavior.
• Continuous rounding: assigned to multiple rooms, entering each room to assess the patient and environment, then moving on to the next on a continuous basis.

Qualifications

To qualify as a Patient Care Tech, you must meet the following requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Interest in Behavioral Health Sciences (preferred)
