Schedule and Shifts

Schedules are available 6 weeks in advance. Patient Safety Associates work 8-hour shifts:

• Day shift: 6:30 am - 3:00 pm
• Evening shift: 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm
• Night shift: 10:30 pm - 7:00 am

Work Schedule Commitments

• Per diem: 64 hours in 6 weeks, including weekends and holidays; flexible hours beyond scheduled shifts; work one summer and one winter holiday. Not benefits-eligible.
• Part-time: 24 hours/week, every other weekend and holiday rotation; benefits eligible.
• Full-time: 40 hours/week, every other weekend and holiday rotation; benefits eligible.

Responsibilities

The Safety Associate, under supervision of a licensed professional, provides constant observation of assigned patients and intervenes as necessary to ensure safety. They maintain a safe environment but do not provide direct patient care. Their roles include:

• 1:1 observation: within arm's reach, redirecting, preventing harm, noting behavioral changes.
• Continuous rounding: assessing multiple rooms and environments on a continuous basis.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Interest in Behavioral Health Sciences preferred
