Patient Safety Associate / Patient Care Tech

Schedule Commitment

Schedules are available 6 weeks in advance.

Shifts

• Day shift: 6:30 am - 3:00 pm
• Evening shift: 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm
• Night shift: 10:30 pm - 7:00 am

Work Schedule Commitments

• Per diem: 64 hours in 6 weeks, including 16 Saturday hours, 16 Sunday hours, and 32 weekday hours. All hours must be completed during assigned shifts. Additional hours are flexible. Work one summer and one winter holiday. Not benefits-eligible.
• Part-time (PT): 24 hours/week; every other weekend and holiday rotation. Benefits eligible.
• Full-time (FT): 40 hours/week; every other weekend and holiday rotation. Benefits eligible. Jefferson recognized holidays include New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas. Hallmark days include New Year's Eve, Christmas Eve, Day After Thanksgiving, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Halloween, St. Patrick's Day, Valentine's Day, and Super Bowl Sunday.

Responsibilities

The Safety Associate works under supervision to observe assigned patients constantly and intervene if necessary to ensure safety. They maintain a safe and therapeutic environment but do not provide direct patient care. Their roles include:

• 1:1 Observation: Usually assigned, keeping within arm's reach, monitoring and redirecting patients, preventing harmful behaviors, and noting behavioral changes.
• Continuous Rounding: Assigned to multiple rooms, assessing patients and environments, then moving on to the next room continuously.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Interest in Behavioral Health Sciences preferred
