Job summary

BJC Corporate Health Services seeks a part-time Patient Care Technician to provide direct care to patients, including those with complex behavioral and/or mental health needs, under the supervision of a licensed professional nurse. The role includes night shifts with float differential and mileage reimbursement as part of the benefits package.

Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma or GED; Associate's degree is preferred, CPI and CPR certifications are required by licensure.

• No Experience specified for the role; candidate experience not required.
• CPI and CPR certifications are preferred/required per licensure section.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate skill and judgement to provide safe care for patients, including those with complex behavioral/mental health needs.
• Implement direct patient care under nurse supervision and promote patient- and family-centered care.
• Collect clinical data and document changes in patient status to the healthcare team.
• Use effective communication to collaborate with health care team for safe outcomes.
• Provide continual observation and contribute to the plan of care for patients with complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate skill and judgement necessary to provide safe and effective care to patients including those with complex behavioral and/or mental health needs.
• Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nurse promoting patient and family centered care in a healing environment
• Collects clinical data and information on patients, documents appropriate data, and reports changes in patient status to the healthcare team.
• Uses effective communication skills to collaborate with members of the health care team to provide a safe environment to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Provides continual observation, ongoing documentation, and participates in the development of the plan of care for patients with complex behavioral and/or mental health needs.
