Job summary

BJC HealthCare is seeking a part-time Night PCT to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You will assist with complex behavioral and mental health patients, observe and document data, and collaborate with the health care team to ensure safety and high-quality outcomes.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, CPI and CPR certifications, and experience in an acute hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• CPI certification is preferred.
• CPR certification required or obtained on the job.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Assist with patient and family-centered care in a healing environment.
• Collect clinical data, document pertinent information, and report changes to the care team.
• Communicate effectively with health care team to maintain a safe environment and optimal outcomes.
• Maintain ongoing observation and participate in developing the plan of care for patients with behavioral health needs.

Role Purpose

Provides direct care to patients including those with complex behavioral and/or mental health needs under the direction and supervision of a licensed professional nurse.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate skill and judgement necessary to provide safe and effective care to patients including those with complex behavioral and/or mental health needs.
• Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nurse promoting patient and family centered care in a healing environment
• Collects clinical data and information on patients, documents appropriate data, and reports changes in patient status to the healthcare team.
• Uses effective communication skills to collaborate with members of the health care team to provide a safe environment to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Provides continual observation, ongoing documentation, and participates in the development of the plan of care for patients with complex behavioral and/or mental health needs.
