Job summary

CoxHealth South is seeking a patient sitter to support safety through constant observation for assigned patients in Springfield, MO. You will work under the supervision of the RN and collaborate with the care team to maintain a secure environment.

Required is a high school diploma. The role involves every other weekend and variable weekday shifts, with opportunities for shift differential and weekend scheduling flexibility.

Qualifications

• Experience with patient observation and safety monitoring.
• Ability to communicate with nursing staff and patients.
• Basic computer literacy for charting and timekeeping.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety for assigned patients through continuous observation.
• Communicate with the RN and care team to ensure a safe environment.
• Complete duties under RN supervision; participate in patient care as directed.
• Support weekend rotation and vary weekday shifts.

Communicates with the Registered Nurse and patient care team to ensure a safe environment for medical patients requiring constant observation.
