Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a patient-focused administrator to support patient registration, scheduling and revenue cycle activities on a full-time basis. The role involves coordinating data entry, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and safeguarding patient information.

Hours are typically Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–5 pm, with pay based on experience. Strong communication and attention to detail are essential, as is experience with healthcare data systems and HIPAA requirements.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Service - Provides assistance and services to patients, families, staff and external agencies in the accurate completion of patient registration, admission and scheduling; resolves problems per Cincinnati Children’s policies.
  • Revenue Cycle Support - Ensures data, information and forms are obtained and entered; communicates system issues and suggests changes to the system.
  • Compliance - Completes and authenticates documents and questionnaires to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Safety - Identifies correct patient, notes special needs, and prepares isolation precautions for patients with Infectious Disease indicators.
  • HIPAA/Confidentiality - Maintains confidentiality and protects patient/family information at all times.

*Starting pay is based on experience, skills, and equity; exceptions may apply for highly qualified candidates. Additional pay (e.g., shift, on‑call, or weekend differentials) and benefits may apply. Annual pay may vary based on FTE status.

Hours: M-F 8:30a-5p

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Customer Service - Provides assistance and services to patients, families, staff and external agencies in the accurate completion of patient registration, admission and scheduling. Investigates and resolves customer requests, questions or problems according to CCHMC policies and procedures. Contacts outside representatives to request information or assistance in resolving problems.
  • Revenue Cycle Support - Supports the Revenue Cycle, Health Information Management, and Regulatory by ensuring that the necessary data, information and forms are obtained and accurately entered into the appropriate system. Talks to management to explain system errors or to recommend changes to the system.
  • Compliance - Completes and authenticates all documents and questionnaires that ensure compliance with regulatory agencies (JCAHO, CMS, ODH).
  • Safety - Ensures patient safety by identifying the correct patient. identifying special needs, and preparing isolation precautions for patients who have Infectious Disease indicators.
  • HIPAA/Confidentiality - Maintains confidentiality, protects and safeguards patient/family personal medical and financial information at all times during collection, use and storage. Access only information and records necessary to perform the responsibilities of the position.
