Overview

As a Medical Assistant, you will be playing a crucial role in patient care, allowing you to directly interact with patients and contribute to their overall well-being. You will have the opportunity to work closely with our providers, contributing to a collaborative and patient‑centric environment.

Responsibilities

• Gather necessary vital signs from patients and complete the office visit form for the physician's review and the patient's file.
• Correctly collect, prepare, and send laboratory specimens for routine tests and record results under the direct supervision of the provider.
• Administer selected medication and treatments to patients as ordered, including injections and immunizations, and instruct patients on proper follow‑up procedures under the supervision of the provider.
• Maintain the supply of stock in exam rooms and lab areas and document usage, so supplies may be replenished.
• Set up and clean medical equipment and keep red bags emptied and prepared for pickup.
• Provide a high level of customer service to both patients and co‑workers.

Requirements

Minimum Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.)

If applicable, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, and must be directly related to the functions and responsibilities of the job.

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:

• A Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved and accredited educational institution.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers.
• Level I fingerprint clearance card: current valid and in good standing, or have applied for it within seven working days after beginning employment.
• Employees in this position are required to have reliable transportation that can meet any operational reassignments of the organization during the workday. If an employee is driving during work hours, the employee must possess a valid driver’s license and be in compliance with Arizona vehicle insurance requirements.
