Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit, MI is seeking a Patient Registration Representative for the afternoon shift (3:30 pm–12:00 am). You will be the first point of contact, handling patient registration, verifying insurance eligibility, and cash collections while advocating for patient needs to ensure a smooth, welcoming experience.

You will follow established procedures, confirm eligibility, update records, address inquiries, and provide compassionate customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards, and behaviors.

Responsibilities

• Follow standard operating procedures for patient registration, including face-to-face check-in and preregistration.
• Confirm insurance eligibility and manage cash collections.
• Update patient registration and insurance information accurately.
• Respond to inquiries from callers and customers, advocating on their behalf.
• Provide efficient and effective customer relationship management, instilling loyalty and anticipating needs.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year of experience in patient admitting, registration, and/or insurance eligibility verification in a hospital or medical office setting.
• EPIC training/experience and familiarity with insurance payor systems and ICD-10 medical terminology.
