Job summary

Altru Health System in Grand Forks, ND is seeking a Registration Specialist Clinic who will perform patient registration and assist as a Phlebotomist. This full-time role requires answering calls, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, MSPQ, and payer compliance.

Work hours are Monday through Friday 8 am–5 pm with occasional 8–11 am Saturday shifts; you’ll support the clinic and contribute to accurate patient data, billing, and service delivery.

Qualifications

• Registers patients by collecting demographic, insurance, and financial data in the computer system.
• Schedules patient visits and procedures, coordinating with departments to meet provider needs.
• Verifies insurance information and obtains authorizations/pre-certifications for services.
• Keeps current with third-party payer MSPQ requirements to ensure proper billing.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support department objectives.

Responsibilities

• Accurately registers patients by collecting and recording demographic, insurance, financial, and clinical data in the computer system.
• Schedules patient visits and/or procedures, coordinating appointments with other departments.
• Accurately schedules and registers appointments.
• Maintains knowledge of and complies with third-party payers’ requirements for verifying insurance information, obtains authorizations/pre-certifications, and MSPQ reviews.
• Modifies work schedule to meet department goals and deadlines and patient needs.
