Job summary

Blue Ridge Regional Hospital is seeking a PRN Patient Registrar to register patients and verify insurance coverage, with varying shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays.

The role requires interviewing patients for account information, providing excellent service, and ensuring accurate charts and proper signatures for treatment.1 year of related experience preferred with strong Microsoft Office skills.

Qualifications

• 1 year of related experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients at workstations or bedside to obtain all necessary account information.
• Provide exemplary customer service.
• Ensure charts are completed and accurate.
• Verify all insurance and obtain pre-certification/authorization.
• Calculate and collect patient liability amounts.
• Ensure that all necessary signatures are obtained for treatment.
• Process patient charts according to paperwork flow needs and established productivity standards.
• Interview incoming patients and relatives to obtain identifying and demographical information.
