Job summary

Shriners Children’s Hawaii in Honolulu is seeking a Patient Registrar to ensure efficient patient registration, collecting accurate demographic and insurance information, and guiding patients to the appropriate destination. You will support outpatient staff with clerical tasks, data entry, and scheduling.

Responsibilities include using SHCIS, applying evidence-based practices, and maintaining patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years clerical experience, including typing and use of computers.
• Familiarity with medical and insurance terminology.
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient demographic and insurance information.
• Provides clerical support: typing, proofreading, filing letters and memos, reports, copying and faxing documents.
• Keeps computer database current and schedules/reschedules appointments for Shriners resources.
• Develops working knowledge of SHCIS and uses it to apply evidenced-based practice, critical thinking, and confidentiality.
• Assesses, enters and retrieves data, using system applications to register, schedule, plan and document patient care, including patient education.
