Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in Brick Township, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to help provide a safe environment for patients. You will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse and perform checks on patients with Watch Orders, while adhering to isolation precautions.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, mobility to assist patients, and willingness to travel as needed. BLS certification is typically required.

To provide a safe environment for patients who are on One to One Supervision for Suicide Precautions, Behavioral Restraints, Line of Sight or Patient Safety. Training will be provided as part of new hire orientation.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• The ability to stay mobile according to the patients' movement including the ability to stand for periods of time.
• Must be able to work in situations with isolation precautions.

Education, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Preferred

• Previous work experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Experience as a Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, Nurse Aide Training, or current Nursing/Psychology student are all preferred.

Licenses And Certifications Required

• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required prior to performing patient observation.

Compensation

Minimum rate of $17.42 Hourly
