Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in New Jersey is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support patients under nurse supervision in a hospital setting. You will perform safety checks, monitor patients, and assist with daily activities to ensure patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

To provide a safe environment for patients who are on One to One Supervision for Suicide Precautions, Behavioral Restraints, Line of Sight or Patient Safety. Training will be provided as part of new hire orientation.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• The ability to stay mobile according to the patients' movement including the ability to stand for periods of time.
• Must be able to work in situations with isolation precautions.

Education, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Preferred

• Previous work experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Experience as a Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, Nurse Aide Training, or current Nursing/Psychology student are all preferred.

Licenses And Certifications Required

• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required prior to performing patient observation.

Compensation

Minimum rate of $17.42 Hourly
