Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Mobility Technician to assist patients with mobility tasks under clinical supervision. The role supports nursing and therapy teams, helps with transfers, and ensures safe patient movement in a hospital setting.

Preferred candidate has a High School diploma, BLS certification, and some therapy aide or nursing student experience relevant to acute care. Shift is 7P-7A; on-site position with emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Preferred high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association is required.
• 6 months of therapy experience (e.g., PT/OT Rehab Tech) or nursing student with clinical exposure.
• Pursuit of professional medical licensure in field applicable to acute care.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with mobility under clinical staff direction.
• Transport patients and assist in bed transfers and ambulation.
• Document patient care in EPIC and follow PMP.
• Inspect, maintain, clean, and stock department equipment.
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy and physicians on mobility plans.
• Support quality and safety targets and contribute to department improvements.
• Manage daily tasks and inventory in the department.
