Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System, a member of Trinity Health, is seeking a part-time Diet Clerk to support patient meal services and the clinical dietitian. You will help patients and families with menu selections, respond to needs promptly, and communicate vital information to the care team.

The role requires a high school diploma (college training in Dietetics preferred), English literacy, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent; college training in Dietetics preferred.
• Experience: Healthcare experience or knowledge of dietetics and medical terminology preferred.
• Knowledgeable in basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Visits all patients assigned, assisting with menu selections.
• Responds to patient needs and requests in a timely manner.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Communicates pertinent clinical information to the Clinical Dietitian and care team.
• Establishes and maintains strong communication with patients and families.
• Checks tray tickets against EMR to ensure accuracy with diet order and preferences.
