Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, OH is hiring a Diet Clerk to support patient meals and diet orders in a fast-paced hospital setting. This full-time role requires attention to dietary needs, accuracy, and compassionate patient service as part of a faith-based system within Trinity Health.

You will work a 12-hour day shift and collaborate with dietitians and nursing staff to ensure timely meal service, accurate tray assembly, and adherence to safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; English literacy required.
• Healthcare experience or knowledge of dietetics and medical terminology preferred.
• Strong priority setting and organizational skills.
• Professional conduct and rapport with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Visits assigned patients and assists with menu selections.
• Responds to patient needs and requests promptly.
• Demonstrates knowledge of modified diets per department policies.
• Uses systems: Patient Care System, CBORD Diet Office Management, Palm Pilot for Bedside Menu Entry; Internet/Intranet.
• Checks patient trays for accuracy during meal service.
