Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a dedicated Food Service Worker to support patient meals delivery and tray assembly in our hospital setting. You will load trays, deliver meals to patient rooms, and assist in multiple kitchen sections while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.

Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma, strong communication skills, and the ability to follow instructions. Prior food service experience and a valid driver’s license are preferred, with opportunities for

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Driver's License is preferred.
• Ability to portion items, load trays and pick up/deliver trays.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Portions cold food items as assigned.
• Set up trays with hot and cold items as per requests.
• Load completed meal trays onto trucks and deliver to rooms.
• Collect empty trays and food trucks from rooms and strip trays.
• May assist in other sections (salads, nourishment, Kosher Kitchens, cafeteria).
• Prepare and deliver tube feedings; assemble and deliver canned supplements.
• Sweep and mop floors; clean walls.
• Cleans walk-in and reach-in refrigerators, freezers, and all food service equipment.
• Remove garbage from all kitchen areas to compactor area.
• Clean pots, pans, and kitchen utensils.
• Work in tray washing room, clean patient trays and equipment.
• Store food supplies, paper goods and cleaning supplies.
• Assist Storekeeper as assigned.
• Performs related duties as required.
