Job summary

You will maintain food temperatures, assist with tray-line cleanup, and work in a fast-paced hospital kitchen. Previous food service experience in a healthcare setting is helpful; high school diploma or equivalent required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read, write and follow instructions.
• Knowledge of and skills to operate kitchen equipment.
• Knowledge of emergency procedures, particularly in the event of a fire.
• Knowledge of Health Department Standards required.
• Knowledge of customer relations desirable.
• Must have knowledge of body mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, assemble, distribute, pick up and clean up patient and visitor meal trays.
• Serve attractive, well garnished, and well organized trays with accuracy and speed.
• Maintain proper food temperatures consistently and disassemble and clean tray line.
• Previous food service experience helpful; Hospital/health care setting preferred.
• Work is inside and requires standing and walking in the department; may work evenings/weekends/holidays to meet staffing needs.
