Job summary

UVM Health - UVM Medical Center is seeking a Food Service Worker to support patient nutrition operations by preparing, assembling, delivering, and retrieving meal trays with strong emphasis on safety and service.

This on-site role requires the ability to stand for long periods, work a 3:00 PM–9:00 PM shift with every other weekend, and collaborate with patients, caregivers, and nutrition staff to ensure accurate, timely meals and a positive dining experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred; minimum 18 years of age.
• Experience in high volume, fast paced food service preferred.
• Ability to read, speak, write and understand English.
• Must be dependable and follow safety and sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and deliver patient meal trays accurately and on time.
• Verify patient identity and ensure meals reach the correct location.
• Retrieve meal trays and maintain tray line work areas.
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils with commercial equipment.
• Dispose of trash, compost, and recycling per procedures.
• Stock supplies and rotate inventory per food safety standards.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas while delivering excellent customer service.
