Job summary

Ventura Services Florida is seeking a Dietary Aide Worker to assemble and deliver patient meals across all kitchen stations, while maintaining sanitation and meal service standards. You will assist with set up, meal delivery, dishwashing, and cafeteria duties under the Kitchen Supervisor's direction.

You should be able to work with others, maintain a professional appearance, and communicate clearly in English; bilingual abilities (English/Spanish) are valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Vocational Education, apprenticeship, on-the-job training or essential experience in jobs that lead to food service responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest quality of food service to patients and staff at all times.
• Set up stations with food items, condiments, serving utensils, silverware and other supplies.
• Assemble and deliver patient meals following food safety and sanitation standards.
• Collect meal tickets and charge according to prices.
• Follow established portion control guidelines.
• Garnish all food for steam tables, salad bar, desserts, etc.
• Display cafeteria food in a clean and attractive manner.
• Clean and sanitize the assigned workstation and equipment.
• Follow hospital and regulatory rules.
• Stock dishes, plastic ware, and other items as needed.
• Replenish and arrange items as needed.
• Participate in post meal cleanup tasks.
• Maintain supplies at par-levels.
• Ensure flavor and appearance of food is acceptable when supervisor is not available.
• May be cross trained in other area.
• May vary shifts and/or weekend rotation, overtime as needed.
• Operate dishwasher when necessary.
• Prepare coffee and urns for food service.
• Prepare, load, transport and clean food carts.
• Tally quantities of foods.
• Process new diets and changes as required.
• Assist with meal changes, complaints or patient discharge communications.
• Prepare and deliver special nourishments to patients.
• Assemble and deliver late trays to patients.
• Participate in CQI.
• Ensure completion of daily activities.
