Job summary

Cullman Regional Medical Center in Cullman, AL seeks a dedicated dietary assistant to help serve meals aligned with each patient’s nutritional plan.

You will collaborate with nursing and culinary teams to tailor menus, assemble trays, and ensure accuracy and safety while maintaining a clean work environment and complying with hospital policies. Prior experience is not required; training is provided, and attention to dietary restrictions is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six to twelve months' experience in food service industry preferred.
• Understanding of sanitation and safety in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders meet nutritional requirements.
• Collaborate with caregivers and culinary team to adjust menus for allergies, cultural, and religious preferences.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to patient selections in a timely, accurate manner.
• Assist dietitians and monitor patients on restricted diets to ensure proper intake.
• Communicate problems or concerns to the appropriate personnel promptly.
• Complete daily, weekly, or monthly reports as required by Morrison Healthcare policies.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary working environment.
• Attend department meetings and participate in staff development.
• Demonstrate teamwork and emphasize positive patient/guest experiences.
• Uphold patient safety and quality standards.
