ChristianaCare’s Wilmington Hospital is seeking a Food Service Assistant I to join the Nutrition Services team. You will assemble patient meals, support tray line operations, and ensure proper portioning and meal presentation while maintaining strict food safety standards.

The role requires flexibility across shifts, weekend and holiday rotation, and a patient-focused service attitude in a fast-paced hospital kitchen environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assemble patient meals accurately and efficiently according to menu and dietary guidelines.
• Support tray line operations, dish room, sanitation, and kitchen assignments.
• Ensure proper portioning, tray setup, and meal presentation.
• Follow therapeutic diet requirements and distinguish between regular and modified diets.
• Maintain food safety standards, including temperature control and cross-contamination prevention.
• Uphold sanitation and safety standards in compliance with federal, state, or organizational regulations.
• Demonstrate a 'patients come first' mindset in every interaction.
