Job summary

WH Wheeling Hospital Inc. is seeking a Dietetic Assistant to perform a variety of food service duties, including patient tray assembly, dish room, utilities, cafeteria service, and cold food production.

The role emphasizes teamwork to deliver high-quality food and service to patients and customers while adhering to sanitation standards. Minimum qualifications include a current Food Handlers card and PIC training by the department; preferred is a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Food handlers card or training within 30 days of hire
• PIC training provided through County Health Department
• Maintains sanitation and safety standards as per department policies

Responsibilities

• Prepare work areas and maintain sanitizer levels
• Set up area, restock, and keep areas clean
• Produce attractive, quality food and beverages
• Follow menu cycles, portions, and FIFO for leftovers
• Greet customers and take orders with courteous service
• Address customer concerns and escalate when needed
• Clean spills and manage waste and trash promptly
• Organize and merchandise the work area
• Document temperatures of refrigerators and dish machines
• Operate and store equipment safely
• Label and store foods and chemicals properly
