Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a food service associate to prepare, assemble, and deliver patient meals and snacks. You will work with nursing, dietitians, and food service staff to meet patient dietary needs and maintain quality service.

The role requires strong communication, ability to multitask, and basic math skills. This on-site position may involve shift work and weekend coverage; a signing bonus may be available during recruitment.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks under time constraints and frequent interruptions.
• Basic knowledge of weights & measures and basic math functions.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient trays as assigned, including meals, snacks and supplies; assists with tray positioning and menu selection.
• Loads and pushes food trucks to patient units; transports equipment and uses lifts/elevators as needed.
• Completes the menu rounds for assigned patients and records diet choices; adjusts menus for modified diets.
• Retrieves trays and returns them to the kitchen; cleans and restocks carts.
• Uses the menu planning system to verify diet orders with nurses or designees.
