Job summary

University Medical Center of El Paso is seeking a Food Service Associate to perform duties related to patient meals, tray assembly and delivery, ware washing, and general cleaning in a hospital food service setting. Responsibilities include late tray preparation, inventory, and assisting with bakery items for patients or cafeteria, with potential cash register duties.

Requires English proficiency; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must read, speak and comprehend English to follow instructions and safety precautions.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Food Handlers card from City-County Health Department must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties related to food service for hospital patients including simple food preparation and serving, tray assembly and delivery, ware washing and generalized cleaning.
• Prepares and delivers late trays and supplemental feedings to nursing units.
• Takes inventory and delivers proper floor stock to nursing units.
• Serves food or assists in the preparation of bakery products, salads, and grilled foods for patients and/or cafeteria.
• May operate cash registers as needed.
