Job summary

The Hackensack Meridian Health Dietary Aide role supports patient meals across the lifespan and collaborates with nursing and food service teams in Hackensack, NJ. You will handle orders, portion meals, and maintain clean, sanitary dining areas while following HACCP and HIPAA guidelines.

This full-time position offers benefits and requires weekend and holiday availability, with a minimum physical effort including lifting and standing for long periods, in a fast-paced hospital food service

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Availability to work weekends and five out of six holidays.
• Rotating shift work as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provides all necessary customer service functions.
• Takes customer orders and prepares items according to portions and standards.
• Maintains clean, sanitary work areas and dining room.
• Prepares food items and completes pre-preparation tasks as scheduled.
• Adheres to HACCP and HIPAA guidelines and safety procedures.
• Operates and cleans equipment, and participates in logs and inventories.
• Lifts at least 30 lbs, stands up to 8 hours per day.
