Job summary

Palomar Health Rehabilitation Institute, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Food and Nutritional Services Worker to support patient meals and tray preparation in a hospital setting.

You will prepare and deliver meals, ensure dietary accuracy, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and follow safety procedures while delivering compassionate service to patients and staff. PRN schedule with wage $25/hour.

Qualifications

• Prior food service or customer service experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Must be customer service oriented and able to manage multiple tasks under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and delivers meals, maintains kitchen cleanliness, and supports food service operations to ensure quality, safety, and satisfaction for patients and staff.
• Accurately prepares food trays for general and therapeutic diets, including special diet items as required.
• Verifies tray accuracy and delivers trays or snacks to patient care units as requested.
• Cleans and maintains the kitchen, storage areas, and food preparation equipment.
• Washes, sanitizes, and stores trays, dishes, and utensils.
• Sets up the serving line with cold foods, condiments, utensils, and serving containers according to menus and instructions.
• Stocks and stores food items and maintains appropriate supply levels for upcoming meals.
• Assists with inventorying and storing incoming food supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
