Job summary

Pender Community Hospital District is seeking a PRN Cook to prepare, serve and dispose of foods for patients, staff and visitors. You will follow menu orders, assist with meal setup and ensure safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen.

Hours are PRN, as needed. High school diploma or equivalent preferred; CPR certification required; valid driver’s license; familiarity with dietary restrictions is helpful. This role supports a caring hospital team and patient nutrition services.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent; dietary experience preferred.
• CPR certification required; valid driver’s license may be preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret and follow menus and dietary orders.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient and employee meals in accordance with menus and special diets.
• Follows safety and sanitation procedures and maintains a clean kitchen area.
• Assists nursing staff by preparing patient snacks as requested.
• Maintains sanitation procedures including dishwashing and equipment cleanliness.
• Ensures sanitary practices are followed by all kitchen staff.
• Washes dishes and maintains kitchen cleanliness; monitors dishwasher temperatures.
• Other duties as assigned.
