Job summary

ChristianaCare is hiring a Part-Time Food Service Assistant I for its Newark campus. The role supports the Food & Nutrition Services team, assembling patient trays, handling modified diets, and ensuring sanitation and safety in kitchen areas. The position requires reading, writing, following instructions, and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

It offers weekend differentials, PTO, and benefits Day One. Shifts run between 6:30 AM and 9:30 PM with a rotating schedule and every other weekend/holiday

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assemble patient meal trays with care and accuracy, following dietary guidelines.
• Prepare trays for modified diets (e.g., pureed foods, thickened liquids).
• Operate dish machines and maintain sanitation stations.
• Ensure cleanliness and safety in all kitchen areas.
• Monitor equipment temperatures and sanitation levels.
• Follow infection prevention protocols, including proper food storage and glove use.
