Responsibilities

• Delivers and collects patient trays during meal service and delivers nourishments or snacks as ordered.
• Visit patients to introduce services of the Food and Nutrition Services Department.
• Obtain food preferences/dislikes from patients or family members.
• Communicate patient food needs to the Food and Nutrition Services Department.
• Provide appropriate menu selections per nutrition diet care orders.
• Maintain sanitation by following cleaning schedules and complete other sanitation tasks as assigned.
• Inventory and restock pantries, refrigerators, and freezers on assigned units.
• Maintain temperature logs for unit refrigerators and freezers.
• Understand therapeutic diets using established protocols and seek assistance when needed.
