Job summary

ChristianaCare is seeking a Food Service Assistant III – Host/Hostess to join our Nutrition Services team. You will be the friendly face delivering meals to patients and ensuring dietary needs are met with care.

The role requires working all listed 10-hour shifts on a rotating basis, delivering meals tailored to therapeutic diets, collecting menu selections, and collaborating with clinical staff to ensure patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6+ months food service experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to read diet orders and perform basic math.
• Comfort using iPads and basic computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Deliver meals tailored to therapeutic diets with accuracy and empathy.
• Collect and process patient menu selections and diet orders.
• Adjust menus based on dietary guidelines and patient preferences.
• Provide warm, attentive customer service to patients and families.
• Collaborate with clinical and dietary teams to ensure satisfaction and safety.
